The
IM=X Floor (Mat) course teaches the personal trainer/group instructor
the proprietary knowledge required of an IM=X Pilates group instructor.
IM=X has been called "the strength training version of Pilates"
by Fitness Magazine; and is known for its unique choreography. Learn
the principles of IM=X Pilates -- spinal decompression, forced
exhalation, postural adjustments, pelvic, ribcage and spine
stabilization -- and the eight sequences of choreography that allow you
to teach beginner, intermediate and advanced mat class formats. The
IM=X Pilates program uses the Ring and Body Bar to increase resistance
- thus toning the arms, shoulders, hips, upper/lower back, gluteals and
abdominal wall QUICKER! The 120-page certification manual includes
photos and step-by-step instructions. DVDs illustrate a wide variety of
routines so you and your clients stay challenged.

This
course teaches the personal trainer/group instructor the exercise
science which defines IM=X Pilates reformer workouts. The eight
training sequences provide the fitness professional with several 30/60
minute formats that can be modified for many different levels. The
lectures and exercise labs provide research on stabilization,
breathing, alignment and muscle recruitment. Considerations
for spring loading, equipment configuration and group formatting are
reviewed. Participants learn the goal of each exercise, its target
muscles, verbal/tactile cues, common postural adjustments, spring
loading, and safety issues. The course ends with a Written &
Practical Exam. The 140-page manual includes photos and step-by-step instructions. DVDs also assist with the process of memorization.
